What is the process to have the unit updated with the latest information?
Answer:
Auto Nav 2000 plan to offer the update service and or a DVD (depending on file size) when updates are available from Magellan. You will also need a USB cable and AC power supply to be able to connect the Magellan Maestro to your PC and power the unit. You may purchase these soon through our online store if you do not already have them.
Question:
Why is my unlock code not accepted?
Answer:
Please check that the internal serial number of the unit is the same as the one provided during your purchase of the map update. If there is an error, please contact Magellan or Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc directly.
Question:
Can I use other applications on my computer during the map update?
Answer:
It is highly recommend that the map update is performed when you do not need to use your computer for several hours; It is also recommend that all applications be shut down or temporarily disabled before the map update is performed to ensure the integrity of the data transfer.
Please turn off all Anti virus software, disconnect Internet connection, disable power saver mode, shut down all applications before performing update, any disruption durning Map update process can corrupt the files for the map software update
Always use AC power supply to power up your GPS unit when updating your GPS unit to ensure no lost of power during map update process.

Windows is giving me a driver warning message, what should I do?
Answer:
While the GPS unit is being updated, a driver message may appear. Please ignore the message and continue the installation. This has no adverse impact on the map update process.
Question:
Do I need to de-activate power saving options of Windows before performing the map update?
Answer:
While this is not necessary, we highly recommend that the power saving option be temporarily disabled to ensure the integrity of the data transfer.
Question:
Is it normal that my GPS unit goes through a series of screen changes and restarts during the map update process?
Answer:
Yes, this is the normal behavior during the map update.
Question:
After my map update, the GPS unit no longer indicate which side of the road the final destination will be on.
Answer:
Yes, this is one of the feature that was eliminated with the new mapping software update possibly due to memory space issue. The voice prompt now does pronounce upon arrival the name of the street then follow by the complete address and name of street. It even pronounce the name of business if it's a listed POI instead of which side of the street the destination is located.

Notice to customer's regarding map update software responsibilities and acknowledgement:
Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc / Auto Nav Direct understand updating software maybe difficult for some customers, and for this reason we offer a map update service for those who do not wish to deal with possibility of map update failure issues.
There has been cases when customer attempted to perform the map update on their own and failed due to numerous reasons during or after the map update which render their GPS system useless.
Some causes can be lost of power to GPS device during update, Internet security popping up or blocking the update, conflict with computer that is used for updating maps, wrong operating system or not following the proper map update procedures when performing map software update etc.
All these conflict can and may cause the GPS unit you are updating to lock up and or fail.
Unit may be required to be sent back to factory for repair if unit fails during update.
Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc / Auto Nav Direct cannot be responsible for any such failure beyond our immediate control and customer understand they must take full responsibility for any such failures should it occur and contact the GPS factory directly for resolution should this type of map update failure occur.
We sell the freshest maps that are currently available, and cannot guarantee when the next new map will be released by manufacturers. If you buy the map, you are responsible for your actions and there is no refunds or returns if new maps is available after you purcahse your map updates.
