NEW IrDA functionality The IrDA functionality enables you to ‘beam’ addresses (in vCard format) directly into the Magellan RoadMate 700 from your PDA2. Supports most Pocket PC 2002/2003, and Palm operating systems.
   
Maps & POI's

Latest Q104 NavTeq mapping software and 1.8 million Points of Interest for U.S and Canada in full coverage. Both North America and European maps will be preloaded on the unit. The North American region is unlocked, and the customer has the option of purchasing and unlocking the European region at any time.

North American maps now include ALL of Canada and provide updated map information for the 48 contiguous United States.

Option to add detailed maps of 25 European countries and regions for an extra fee (2004 NAVTEQTM Data) Includes: Andorra ,Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Portugal San Marino, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican, and Wales.
New Home Button A ‘Home’ button has been added on the ‘Select Destination screen’ to guide you to your home, office or other address of your choice with one quick touch.
 
New Icon on Map Screen A “satellite search” icon now appears on the map screen whenever the system loses and is trying to reacquire the GPS signal.
   
Auto Power Off For vehicles with full-time hot cigarette lighters, the system will automatically power down if the vehicle is stopped for more than 20 minutes and the screen and buttons have not been accessed. Both an audible and visual alert warns of the impending power down, and gives the user the option of canceling the shut down. This is user selectable, and the factory default position is not enabled
   
More Previous Destinations 50 previous destinations are now stored in memory. In the last software version only 10 previous destinations were stored.
   
Enhanced locate button functionality

While driving on an interstate, pressing the locate button twice shows freeway exit names that you’ve just passed and the next exit name that is ahead.

While driving in the city, pressing the locate button twice will shows you different street address ranges on left and right side of street.

Shows altitude information.
   

This upgrade includes all the features and enhancements from version 3.52 as well
POI Icons Points Of Interest Icons on the Map. User can Select desired POI' s from
OPTION -> CONFIGURATION-> POI
Selected POI's will be displayed on the MAP
 
    
Previous City List Once the route is calculated the selected City name will be saved.·
If user wants to go to the same city, user can select from the Previous City List. The Previous City feature Lists a maximum of 9 Cities. If list exceeds 9 the last in the list will be replaced.
 
 
 
Split True View Split True View can be selected from
OPTION-> CONFIGURATION ->MAP OPTION.
If user selects Split True-View, instead of complete True-View, the user is now able to see both MAP and True-View on the same screen.
 
 
 
New Locate Screen Speed meter and Software Compass Meter have been added. Now the user can also see the speed and direction of travel along with the current location information.
 
 
 
Sorted Address Book All the Address book entries are now sorted in alphabetical order.
 
 
 
Language Selection
 Language can be switched by selecting
OPTION-> CONFIGURATION-> LANGUAGE.

POI Selection Menu POI selection menu was moved to the top of the selection list in the
OPTION-> CONFIGURATION menu.
 
 
 
POI on the Map Screen POIs on the map screen were made touchable and routable. A Route can be generated if a POI icon is touched on the map screen.
