Firmware Features & Enhancements               
  1. IrDA functionality that supports beaming of addresses in vCard format.
     
    • Supports most Pocket PC 2002/2003, and Palm operating systems.
       
  2. New Q1 of 2004 map data for North America and Europe.
     
  3. Both North America and European maps will be available from a CD. Customers must load the map regions to a CF card from CD's.
     
    • NA SKU’s will ship with NA CD maps
       
  4. A Home button has been added to the “select destination” screen, which allows the user to quickly route to a predefined “home” address.
     
  5. A “satellite search” icon now appears on the map screen whenever the system loses and is trying to reacquire the GPS signal.
     
  6. Auto Power Off
     
    • For vehicles with full-time hot cigarette lighters, the system will automatically power down if the vehicle is stopped for more than 20 minutes and the screen and buttons have not been accessed.
       
    • Both an audible and visual alert warns of the impending power down, and gives the user the option of canceling the shut down.
       
    • This is user selectable, and the factory default position is not enabled.
       
  7. 50 previous destinations are now stored in memory. In the last software version only 10 previous destinations were stored.
     
  8. Enhanced locate button function shows the street number range for the block the vehicle is on, and altitude information.
     
  9. All of the feature upgrades and bug fixes from software release v3.52.
     
    1. Split TrueView – Both True View and the map are displayed on the same screen.
       
    2. POI Icons - User can select category specific POI icons to be displayed on the map screen.
       
    3. Route to POI Icon - POI’s on the map screen can be routed to by touching the POI icon.
       
    4. New Locate Screen - Speedometer and compass information added to the Locate Screen.
       
    5. Previous City List – The previous 9 destination cities are stored in memory.
       
    6. Simulation Mode - A driving simulation mode will simulate a route.
       
    7. Address Book Sorting - All Address Book entries are now sorted in alphabetical order.
       
    8. Map Panning – Faster map panning.
       
    9. Index File Update - Improves search accuracy for Addresses and POI’s.
       
    10. Language Selection – Turn instructions and route information are now available in 7 languages, all with male or female voices.
