With the introduction of the Magellan Road Mate 500 and 700 to the vehicle navigation family of 750Nav and 750M Plus systems, the customer now has a wider selection and the ability to pick and choose what suits their needs best!

Key features of the Magellan RoadMate 500

15. A “ satellite search” icon now appears on the map screen whenever the system loses and is trying to reacquire the GPS signal.
16. For vehicles with full-time hot cigarette lighters, the system will automatically power down if the vehicle is stopped for more than 20 minutes and the screen and buttons have not been accessed. Both an audible and visual alert warns of the impending power down, and gives the user the option of canceling the shut down. This is user selectable, and the factory default position is not enabled
17. 50 previous destinations are now stored in memory. In the last software version only 10 previous destinations were stored.
18. While driving on an interstate, pressing the locate button twice shows freeway exit names that you’ve just passed and the next exit name that is ahead. While driving in the city, pressing the locate button twice will shows you different street address ranges on left and right side of street.

    If user wants to go to the same city, user can select from the Previous City List. The Previous City feature Lists a maximum of 9 Cities. If list exceeds 9 the last in the list will be replaced
22. Split True View can be selected from
    OPTION-> CONFIGURATION ->MAP OPTION.
    If user selects Split True-View, instead of complete True-View, the user is now able to see both MAP and True-View on the same screen.
23. Speed meter and Software Compass Meter have been added. Now the user can also see the speed and direction of travel along with the current location information.
24. All the Address book entries are now sorted in alphabetical order
25. Language can be switched by selecting
    OPTION-> CONFIGURATION-> LANGUAGE.

26. POI selection menu was moved to the top of the selection list in the
    OPTION-> CONFIGURATION menu.

Key features of 750Nav Plus

1. Unit can be permanently mounted in a vehicle for a custom look.
2. Mount the display vertically or portrait style to conserve dash space and for a cleaner look when display is mounted. No need to mount display on top of dashboard.
3. The 750 can be transportable in different vehicles with the optional 2nd car kit.
4. Audio and Video output for optional display and speaker source. This feature is great for RV users, by having the passenger input and program the 750Nav unit and has an additional larger display for the driver to view while driving.
5. Optional larger display with external speaker is possible only with the 750Nav and 750M Plus
6. Off Road Navigation software features and abilities that is included in the 750Nav and 750M Plus
7. Enhanced Points of Interest (POI) - Over 15 million points of interest listed in 132 different categories to choose from. The older version 4.0.0.17 POI software only includes approximately 700,000 POI’s in 44 different categories. Able to search POI’s by phone numbers
8. Selectable restaurant searches in POI option: Select restaurant types by cuisine, there are 48 different cuisine types to choose from. Simply select one of the 48 different category options such as: Chinese, Mexican, Steak house, Vegetarian, Sea Food, Fast food etc. Now the Magellan 750Nav/M Plus will allow customers the option of routing to their favorite restaurants closest to them by the cuisine type of their choice.
9. GPS acquisition signal availability indicator is displayed on the bottom of 750Nav/M screen. When the GPS signal is acquired and available, routes can be calculated, and the unit can route correctly. This feature helps user’s determine if GPS satellite signals are available for navigation routing purposes. “When GPS signals are not available, the GPS system will not route turn by turn correctly, only a maneuver list can be generated for customers to use as a reference”
10. New search by phone number feature under POI's allows address searches of POI’s by simply entering phone numbers, instead of complete addresses by City and street names.
11. New Zip code search feature allows search of any address via zip code if a user is uncertain what City, or County, the address exists. This is helpful in a situation where as the mailing address to a certain address does not reflect the city the address resides.
12. Slightly improved routing algorithm from 4.0.0.17 for safer routing.
13. New search feature for the State the customer is in. This feature eliminates clutter of additional street names and POI information from other States for faster POI and address search input, because the information is limited only to the State customer is in.
14. Automatic State switching; when a user is in another State the unit will automatically switch to the State the user is in for POI and address search information options.
15. Better GPS acquisition performance with the NEW improved GPS firmware HN11. This firmware upgrade is to be used only with the enhanced Magellan GPS 12 channel receiver that is WAAS enabled. GPS icon is now blue when WAAS signal is available.
16. Product demonstration now reflects the optional remote control option features for the Auto Nav Mars or Jupiter package
17. Version 4.3.3.12 also comes with a Maximum Speed Record feature in the Trip Computer. What does this do? It will allow an employer to know how fast an employee has driven on a given day or for those who wish to hold speed records out in the desert, it can record the maximum speed acheived via GPS for accountability .
18. 750Nav Plus unit will store the last 4 City Names from previous routes into memory. This feature allows the user to select recently used City Names during the entry of future routes without the need to re-input (spell out) the city names for faster input.
